To become an Investigator or Security Guard
with Skanna Investigations, the applicant must be able to meet the
requirements set by the Chief Registrar of the Ontario Provincial
Police, under the Private Investigators and Security Guard Act.
The applicant must be bondable, possess no criminal record, and
be able to complete the Skanna Systems Investigations training course
with a minimum passing score of 80%.
Skanna employs qualified and experienced
individuals, who have a desire to obtain and maintain a career in
law enforcement. All Investigators and Security Guards are trained by skilled trainers,
licensed, bonded and insured.
Skanna will provide Investigators and Security Guards who have clear knowledge and information about their assigned
responsibilities.
Skanna not only gives initial but ongoing
training to ensure our Investigators and Security Guards excel and maintain their excellent
investigation skills and techniques.
Investigators primary duties:
- Detect and apprehend shoplifters
- Prevent loss of company merchandise
and property
- Complete apprehension and supplementary
forms
- Attend court when required
- Act as a liaison between police
and other law enforcement agencies
- Undercover surveillance and covert
operations
Security
Guards Primary duties:
- Detect and
apprehend shoplifters
- Complete apprehension
and supplementary forms
- Attend court
when required
- Act as a liaison
between police and other law enforcement agencies
- CCTV and camera
monitoring
- Fire and safety
checks
- Protection of property against fire, theft, and vandalism
- Dealing with members of the public with various ethnic backgrounds
The primary function
of the security guard is to act as a high profile visual crime deterrent.
